Worms in the Garden
In the garden, earthworms play an important role in the development of healthy, productive soils.

They feed on organic matter leaving behind rich manure or "castings" which provide readily available nutrients to plants. As they burrow through the soil, they leave tunnels that open up passage ways for air and water.
As a result, the soil becomes loose, porous and fertile.
Vermicomposting - Employing Worms to Make Compost

- Red worms vs. Nightcrawlers
Most sources talk about using several species of red worms to do composting. While red worms are very good for turning kitchen scraps into castings, they are not very good fishing bait because they are much smaller.
- Cultured Nightcrawlers
We supply a unique nightcrawler that has been developed to like heat. In fact, they thrive at 70 to 90 degrees.
Different than all other nightcrawlers, with similar qualities to red worms, our cultured nightcrawler work just as well at turning waste into castings and has the added benefit of providing a source of VERY NICE bait worms for fishing!
